Bismillaah
As written on April 29
Alhamdulillaah for warmer days. The children removed their jackets an hour into the day as it got really warm. We started with exploring the Land and making connections. Buds are appearing on trees which looked dead all these months. To appreciate we turned some buds into earrings and some into hijab pins! The moms introspective on buds inspiring earrings and other forms of jewelry was nice to hear.
Children have been learning water safety. They have learned to tell when the water is safe to go in and when it is not. Playing by the water is going to happen a lot more!
Our theme this month encouraged a lot of stick play. We learned letters from sticks, length, measurements, numbers, properties and even made toys. A picture below shows how we made a slingshot.
Finally, we explored the various types of beaks the birds have and how their beak structure influences their diet. We talked about how thebirds with similar beaks eat together and learned how we use our hands to eat. The birds are so diverse but we human beings all look alike. We come in different colours outside but we are the same inside. Our hands feed us and we are grateful for all the ways our hands can grasp, pull, push, pick, turn, hold and embrace. Are we using our hands to do good or are we causing harm?
